  1. Create a data source with the appropriate data element (e.g. demoxl_template), based on which the dynamic values and formula expressions have been specified in the excel sheet.
    1. Proceed to click Save to save the configured data source.
    Note

    Ensure that you create the data source using a relevant data element. In the provided example, the demoxl_template DB is the used data element from the database or schema, for which the database connection had already been created in Sigma Studio. For detailed information on creating data sources in Sigma Studio, refer Creating a DB Data Source




  2. Create a report with the newly created data source (e.g. EXCEL TEMPLATE DS) and provide the necessary configuration details as per your needs and requirements.
    1. Click the Additional Info tab.



  3. In the Additional Info tab, click the Browse Files option and select the relevant excel template sheet, e.g. Template10.



  4. Once the excel template sheet gets uploaded, click Save to save the report.

    Note

    While editing the excel template report, click the Additional Info tab and then click the Download  icon to download the excel sheet template, which had been uploaded earlier.



    To replace the existing excel sheet template with a new one, click the Edit  icon to replace the existing excel sheet template with a new excel template.

     

    On clicking the Edit  icon, the Browse Files option will appear and you can click the Browse Files option to add a new excel sheet template of your choice to the edited report.




  5. Access the report in the Sigma Application and then click Run to generate the report.
    1. Download the generated report in the selected XLS format.

    The fetched data of the downloaded report is displayed in the XLS file, as shown in the following screen shot.
