Configuration for Switching Charts at Runtime

Earlier, Canvas Technology platform provided a configuration that enabled end-users to switch chart at runtime in the application. However, at a time you can switch from one type to another type only, e.g. Pie chart to Bar chart. Now, you just have to enable the chart types for switching and end-users can view all the chosen chart while switching the default chart type in the application.

This functionality is not applicable to switch from a Single series to Multi series.

Let's take a multi-series chart as an example and view its configuration in the App Designer.

  1. Select the datasource in Datasource tab and click Proceed. Refer Basic App Configuration - Analytical Charts for more information on basic configuration of charts.

  2. Click the Columns tab.

  3. Drag and drop the required columns into the x and y-axis as shown in the following screen shot:

  4. Click Charts ( ) icon and select the types of chart view to which the chart can be switched at runtime in the end application.

  5. Click Apply.

  6. Click Save icon to save the changes to the chart configuration.
