Install XCode

To install XCode, perform the following steps:

  1. Download XCode from the App Store or from the following link: https://developer.apple.com/xcode/download/. The installation file (.dmg) is saved in the Downloads folder.

    When you download software from the App Store for the first time, you need to provide payment information, such as credit card number, billing address, phone etc. This is just a verification procedure that charges 1 USD, which is refunded after verification. Once you provide the payment information, you can download XCode from the App Store.

  2. Double-click the downloaded XCode package file. The XCode install window appears.
  3. Drag and drop the XCode into the Applications folder OR double-click XCode. XCode gets installed in the Applications folder.



  4. Double-click XCode. The XCode and iOS SDK License Agreement window appears.



  5. Click Agree. XCode opens successfully.
