Install Android Studio

To install Android Studio, perform the following steps:

  1. Download the Android Studio from the following link: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html. The downloaded installation file (.dmg) is saved in the Downloads folder.

    The instructions in this section are provided for the steps in the Android Studio installable that was downloaded at the time of writing this document. The screens in the installation wizard are dependent on the version you have downloaded. If you have downloaded a different version, you might have lesser or more steps in the wizard. The instructions here are just a guideline to install the pre-requisites.

  2. Double-click the Android Studio installation file. The Android Studio installation wizard appears.
  3. Double-click Android Studio. The Android Studio gets installed in the Applications folder.



  4. Open Android Studio. A confirmation popup appears.



  5. Click Open. The Complete Installation popup appears.



  6. Select the option, I do not have a previous version of Studio or I do not want to import my settings and click OK. The Android Studio Setup Wizard appears with the Welcome message.



  7. Click Next. The wizard downloads the required components.



  8. Once installation is complete, click Finish.
