Import of Metadata in JSON Format

Sigma enables you to import configurations in JSON format from one environment and use it to recreate the same in another environment.
Currently you can import configurations only in JSON format.
 

Steps to import metadata in JSON format:

Prerequisites: A connection should be created in Studio schema in the name of STUDIO_CONNECTION and the username and password should be same as that of the Studio schema. For information on creating a database connection, please refer section, Creating a Database Connection.

1. Click Import in the top right pane of Sigma Studio to open the Import JSON screen.
   
   
   
   
2. Click the Browse Files to open the file explorer window.
   
   
   
   
   
3. Select the JSON file that contains the metadata that you want to import and click Open.
   
   
   
   If you want to import configurations of several components, you can add the configuration files one by one by clicking the Browse Files option.
   
   
   
4. Enter the purpose of the import in the Import Comments field.
   
   
   
   
5. Click the look-up button in the Connection field to select an existing connection.
   
   
   
   

6. Perform a double-click to choose the connection of the schema to which you want to import the configuration.

   After importing the JSON file, select the connection, which points to the Sigma schema. You must have already configured a database connection, pointing to the Sigma schema in Studio. It is essential that only the connections pointed to the Sigma schema need to be selected, while importing the JSON files in Studio. 

   
   
   
   The selected Connection appears on the screen.
   
   
   
   

7. Click Submit.
   
   
   
   A success toast message is displayed on the screen.
