Configuring a report bursting
Note: Before creating a report bursting, you must ensure to configure the following:
Perform the following steps to configure a report bursting:
On the home page of Sigma Studio, click Manage > Report Bursting.
Click the plus icon to create a new report bursting.
The Report Bursting screen appears as shown on the following screenshot:Enter a valid name for BURSTING NAME field, e.g. Beneficiary Report.
Select the appropriate Report or Report Group from the Report/Report Group List field, e.g. Beneficiary_Details.
By default, Bursting Type is chosen as Bursting.
Select the appropriate Pre-Condition Data Source from the Pre Condition Data Source field.
NOTE: Pre-Condition Data Source is an optional field. Precondition DS is a conditional data source, which needs to be validated before executing report bursting in order to ensure availability of the data for bursting instances. To create new data source, refer Create a DB Datasource. Pre-Condition Data Source must contain at least one record that must be commonly available for all the selected report or report group in the list.NOTE: Once Pre-Condition Data Source is chosen, the Re-check Pre Condition after (MINS) and For Max of fields appear with default value set to ‘3’ as shown in the screen shot. If suppose the pre-condition datasource returns null data, you can configure the time interval (in minutes) to recheck the datasource and the number of times to recheck. For example, if Re-check pre condition after (MINS) and For Max of fields are set to 3, the pre-condition datasource is rechecked every three minutes for three times.
Select the appropriate client group from the Client Group field, e.g. ABC BANK.
NOTE: Existing client groups appear in the Client Group. To create new client group, refer Client Grouping.Enter the number of clients in each batch in the No. of clients per batch field. For example, if there are 1000 clients, you can split into 100, 250 or 500 per batch according to the requirement.
NOTE: The maximum limit for this filed is 1000.Select the appropriate criteria group from the Generate for Criteria/Group field, e.g. Beneficiary Details. To create a report criterion, refer Creating Report Criteria. To create a criteria group, refer Grouping Criteria.
NOTE: If individual criteria is selected, report instances will get triggered for each value of the criteria mapped to the report. Contacts/Contact groups and the Delivery path configured in the Client Grouping will get applied.
For example, the ‘ABC Bank’ client holds three accounts in client criteria mapping. If the client wants each account statement separately, then individual criteria must be selected. It generates the account statement for the three accounts separately, e.g. account_statement_1, account_statement_2, account_statement_3.
If any criteria group is selected, report instances will get triggered for the criteria group configured in the criteria group mapping. Contacts/Contact groups and the Delivery path configured in the Criteria Group mapping will get applied. If there is no Notification channels/Delivery Path configured in Criteria Group Mapping, contacts/Delivery path from client grouping will be considered. For example, the ‘ABC Bank’ client holds three accounts. The client wants the statement of all its accounts, then a criteria group must be selected to generate statement of all three accounts in one report.
If Generate for Criteria/Group is not selected, report instances will get triggered for the criteria mapped to the report. Contacts/Contact groups and the Delivery path configured in the Client Grouping will get applied.Click the Calendar icon in the Start Date field and select the start date.
NOTE: You can also specify the start time by clicking the Clock icon.
Click the Calendar icon in the End Date field and select the end date.
NOTE: The End Date is an optional field. From the Select Frequency drop-down list, select the frequency for the report bursting schedule. In this example, Daily is selected as the schedule frequency.
