  1. On the home page of Canvas Studio, click App Designer.

  2. Hover the mouse on the app of your choice and click JSON option to export the metadata in JSON format.  For SQL download, move to Step 4.



    A message box appears, indicating the successful generation of the file.

  3. Click Ok.

    Save the exported JSON file in the local drive. 

    After the JSON file is downloaded, save it in the project repository.

    Tip

    The exported JSON file, consisting of the app's metadata, can be imported into the target environment using Canvas Studio, by making use of the Import option. For more information on importing JSON files to Canvas Studio, refer Import of Metadata in JSON Format.

  4. Hover the mouse on the app of your choice and click SQL option to export the metadata in SQL format. 


    A message box appears, indicating the successful generation of the file.

  5. Click Ok.

    You can

    generate

    execute the exported SQL scripts

    using your existing database and then proceed further to run the master script file from the base directory of the existing database.
