Intellect Design® Canvas Technology (CT) is an enterprise grade low-code platform that enables you to build highly configurable and user friendly applications that relies on standard web technologies and supports multiple form factors.
CT platform provides a rich set of features in Canvas Studio for creation of Apps (widgets) and publishing those apps to an application. Apps can be directly created on Canvas or done by a third-party and published into Canvas.
Canvas Studio is a What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) tool that enables you to create several types of Apps just by configuration. Business users can design, preview, and publish Apps by themselves and IT team can further embellish the Apps for technical configuration, if required. And all this with a tight linkage to Entitlements engine that allows for the right content to be displayed to a user.
Canvas can be deployed in a scalable architecture and based 100% on JEE architecture, can be installed on any JEE application server in a multi-tiered deployment structure.

Some of the key terminologies used by Canvas Technology are:
Terminology | Description |
App | An App is a logical reusable business unit that can be placed anywhere within the application. An App manages its own rendering and its life cycle. In short, an app is nothing but a widget, which can be a grid, chart, form etc. |
Canvas | Canvas is a collection of Apps laid out as per the configured layout. Canvas can provided with a particular role or linked to specific entitlements for targeted functionality. |
CT Studio | Also referred to as Canvas Studio, this is the tool for agile App development ensuring consistency in user experience across Apps. |
App Home | This is the Home page that contains various Apps the customer is entitled to access. A generic "Design your Canvas" option will enable the user to include the new Apps into their dashboard. |
Design Your Canvas | This is an option provided to the user to create their own custom Canvas with the Apps that they are entitled to. Any Canvas created using this option will be treated as a private Canvas for the user. |
