To create a complex report with charts as shown in the screenshot, configure the additional steps in Canvas Studio:

  1. Click Template Designer icon while configuring the complex report in Canvas Studio.

The Template Designer page appears with the list of header and footer options on the left-hand side of the page and the list of layout tabs on the right-hand side of the page.

  2. Select the type of field from the left-hand side of the page. In this example, Report Header field is selected.

  3. Select the chart layout ( ) tab on the right-hand side of the page. A list of existing chart apps appears on this tab.

  4. Drag and drop the created chart app into the design area.

  5. Click the chart app. A Parent Child Mapping window appears. This window enables you to map the key parent and the child columns through which the columns will be linked and provides the matching data on the report.

  6. Select the parent and the child (key) columns from Parent Column and Child Column fields. In this example, Account_no from the datasource aggregator (ACCOUNT_DS) and Account_no from the chart (Transaction Details App) are selected as the parent and the child column respectively.

  7. Click Save icon to save the template designer.

  8. Proceed with the other configurations for the report. Refer Configuring a Complex Report – Sample 1 for more information on configuring a complex report.
