Canvas offers the viability of downloading app configuration in a feasible manner. The metadata of the apps can be exported in the formats of JSON and SQL. To export the metadata of the apps (widgets) in the formats of JSON and SQL, perform the following steps in Canvas Studio:
- On the home page of Canvas Studio, click App Designer.
- Hover the mouse on the app of your choice and click JSON option to export the metadata in JSON format.
- A message box appears, indicating the successful generation of the file. Click Ok. Save the exported JSON file in the local drive.
- Hover the mouse on the app of your choice and click SQL option to export the metadata in SQL format.
- A message box appears, indicating the successful generation of the file. Click Ok. Save the exported SQL file in the local drive.
- The exported JSON file, consisting of the app's metadata, can be imported to Canvas Studio, by making use of the Import option. For more information on importing JSON files to Canvas Studio, refer Import of Metadata in JSON Format.
- You can generate the exported SQL scripts using your existing database and then proceed further to run the master script file from the base directory of the existing database.
- For bulk export of the apps in JSON format, select the apps of your choice and proceed to click the option of.
- For the bulk export of the apps in SQL format, select the apps of your choice and then proceed to click the option of.
