Generating Group Report defined in Studio

The report groups created in Sigma Studio are available to you in the Sigma Application based on entitlement. Similar to the report groups that you create, the report groups created in Sigma Studio are listed in the left navigation in the Sigma Application and indicated in blue folder icon. The reports/groups in the report groups configured in Sigma Studio cannot be generated or scheduled individually.

Some report groups are created as non-executable in Sigma Studio. These report groups are unavailable for execution as well as scheduling in Sigma Application. However, the reports in these non-executable group reports can be generated or scheduled individually in Sigma Application. Refer to Generating Individual Reports or Report Groups in a Group Report to generate non-executable group reports.

NOTE:
The Report Groups configured through Studio cannot be expanded whereas the Non Executable Group Report can be expanded in the left navigation.

Generating a Report Group

Perform the following steps to generate a report group configured in Studio:

1. Log on to the Sigma application.
   
   

   Open

   

   
   The Information Reports workspace opens with Reports section on the left-hand side, which shows the list of reports and report groups created in Sigma Studio. The report groups are indicated in blue folder icon. In our example, the Account Transactions report group is configured in Sigma Studio.

2. In the Reports Section, click the report group name.
   NOTE:
   Report Groups are indicated by the blue color folder icon whereas the reports are indicated by the black color folder icon.
   The Customize Group tab for the selected report group appears on the right side where you can customize the report group defined in the Studio.
   
   

3. Enter a unique name for the group report in the Report Group Name field, e.g. Account Transactions.

4. Choose the report group format from the Report Group Format drop-down field, e.g. PDF.
   
   

   
   NOTE:
   By default the format defined in the Studio is selected in the Report Group Format field.
   The Report Group Format varies based on the Generate Output As option selected.

   1. If you choose Individual File option, PDF and XLS formats are supported.

   2. If you choose Single File option, PDF and XLS formats are supported.

   3. If you choose Multi Sheet option, XLS format is only supported.
      
      

       

5. Select the Generate Output As category. Here, Individual file is selected as the format to be generated as an output.
   
   

6. If suppose you want to filter the report group results based on some parameters, select the filter from the Select Filter drop-down.
   
   

7. Click the Compress option to generate the output file in a compressed (ZIP) format, if required.
   
   

8. Click Run to execute the report.
   
   

Report Group Status pop-up appears on the screen.

9. Click Ok to the pop-up message.
   
   

The generated report group appears on the Generated Reports tab.

All the selected reports or groups are generated separately, since Individual File option is chosen for the Generate Output As field in this example.

You can view the filters and  parameters that were used for generating the report group by clicking on the report group Filters icon in the Generated Reports tab as shown in the following screen shot:
The values mapped to the criteria configured for the report group , will be available here by default.

• If Single File is selected, all the selected reports or groups are generated separately and in addition, a single file combining all these reports or groups gets generated.
  
  

• If Multi Sheet is selected, all the selected reports/groups are generated separately and in addition, a Microsoft Excel file format (XLS) file gets generated with the multiple sheets.
  
  

Generating Individual Reports or Report Groups in a Group Report

The Non Executable Group Report option indicates that the report group configured in Sigma Studio is non-executable, non-customizable and non-schedulable. However, the report or groups in such groups can be generated individually. The reports and groups in Non Executable Report Groups can be customized, executed, scheduled as same as other normal reports and groups configured through studio. To configure non executable report group refer to Configuring a Report Group in Sigma Studio.

To generate reports or report groups in the report groups individually proceed with the following steps:

1. Click the Non Executable Report Group in the left navigation, e.g. EOD Reports.
   
   

By clicking the Non Executable Report Group the report group gets expanded.

2. Click the individual report or group to run or schedule the report or report group individually, e.g. Account Details.
   
   

3. Perform any of the following:

• Click Run to execute the report.

or

• Click dropdown button and choose Save As to create an instance of the report. The instance of the report is created under the individual report outside the report group. To override the report with custom configuration, click Save As Base.
  
  

4. Click the Schedule tab to schedule the reports or groups. Refer to Scheduling Reports to schedule the reports or report groups. The Schedule created for the report or group report of the non executable report gets displayed for both in the report or report groups in the non executable report group and in a respective individual reports or report groups outside the non executive group report.
