Entitlement Framework

Entitlement management is a key aspect of the application that coupled with the Authentication factors provides the essential means to ensure that any activity in the system is done only after explicit authorization checks. This document talks about how the entitlement framework provided by Canvas can be used to get a reliable entitlement management for definition and enforcement across the application.

Canvas Technology provides an in-built entitlement framework that focuses on a configuration based definition of entitlement parameters. While this is a key aspect for the platform itself, the usage of Canvas provided entitlement framework is not imposed on the end applications! If the end application subscribes to a different entitlement model, then Canvas provides the means to provide the adapter that can be used to plug in the third party entitlement model.
