Masking of the PII data in Report

To mask PII data in the reports, perform the following steps:

1. Configure the reports as per your needs and requirements in Sigma Studio. To configure the report, refer Configuring a Simple Report.
   
   

   Open

   

    

2. Click the report column whose data you need to mask, e.g. Account_NO.
   
   

   Open

   

    

3. In Column Attributes, click + button adjacent to Select Masking Format lookup field to create a new masking format for the report data.
   
   

   
   The Data Masking screen appears.
   
   

    

4. Enter a unique name in the Pattern Name field.

5. Provide a sample data in the Sample Data field to try masking with the given sample data.
   
   

    

6. Choose Masking from the Expression type drop-down field, to mask report data.
   
   

    

7. Enter a character to be used for masking the data in the With Char field.

8. Enter the number of characters to be masked in Mask N Char(s) field.

9. Check the preview of the masked data in the Expected Format field for the applied parameters.
   
   

    

10. Enter number of characters to be displayed in the report in Show N Chars(s) field.

11. Enter the index number or particular character from which the data masking needs to start in the Starting Position/Char field.

12. Enter the index number or particular character at which the data masking needs to end in the Ending Position/Char field.

13. Choose Left or Right option from the Start from Left/Right drop-down field, to start the data masking from left or right. By default Left option is chosen.
    
    

     

14. Click + icon to add another expression.
    
    

     

15. Click Delete icon to delete the added expression.
    
    

     

16. Click Save to save the configured masking expression.
    
    

     

17. Choose the configured masking format from the Select Masking Format lookup field, to use it on the report.
