Modifying a Custom Workspace

There are two ways to edit a custom workspace:

  1. Through Design Your Canvas (steps are listed in this section).
  2. Through Re-design Your Canvas (RYC). Refer Customizing Workspaces through RYC.

To edit the custom workspace, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Design Your Canvas icon on the homepage of the application.

The DYC homepage displays with the custom workspace label as shown in the following screen shot:

  2. Click on the Edit icon (highlighted in the following screen shot). The widgets added to the workspace display.

  3. To remove or add widgets from the custom workspace, click +.

Use the search bar to search for the widgets. For more information, refer Search Bar Feature.

The permissible range for the number of apps within the workspace is 1 to 9. This range cannot be modified on the end-users' request. However, if the implementation teams decide to increase the range, the limit can be changed in the systempreferences.properties file.

If you want to remove all widgets from the custom workspace in one go, click the Edit icon on the custom workspace label and then click the Clear icon on the DYC home page ribbon as shown in the following screen shot.

  4. Click Save to save the widgets. The following confirmation message displays. Click OK.

You must also click the Save icon on the DYC homepage to save the changes made to the custom workspace.

On clicking OK in the Confirmation message, the changes made to the custom workspace are saved.

The modified custom workspace can also be accessed from the homepage of your application. For example, in the following screen shot MY CUSTOM WORKSPACE displays on the homepage of CT Modelhouse.

You can change or create icons of your choice for the custom workspaces by modifying or creating CSS templates. The end-users will not be able to change the default icons for the custom workspaces.
