Mapping Role to Entitlements

You can configure entitlements and map the configured entitlements to a role on the Role Mapping screen in Sigma Studio. Refer the following sections on mapping a role to an entitlement in Sigma Studio:

Mapping a Role to an Entitlement

To map a role to an entitlement, perform the following steps in Sigma Studio:

  1. On the home page of Sigma Studio, click Manage > Role Mapping.



    The Role Mapping screen appears.



  2. Click the Role ID drop-down list and choose a role ID of your choice, e.g. All. To create a new role, refer Creating Roles. 



    On selecting a particular role from the Role drop-down list, e.g. All, the Product, Sub-Product and Function Codes which had been previously mapped to the selected role (e.g. All), will get listed in the Role Mapping screen, as shown in the following screen shot:


  3. Click the Product Code drop-down list and select a product code, e.g. OPERATIONS. To create a new product code, refer Creating Product, Sub-Product and Function Codes. 



  4. Click the Sub Product Code drop-down list and select the sub-product code of DELEGATION.

    Note

    Based on the selection of the Product Code, the Sub-Product Code appears accordingly.




  5. Click the Function Code drop-down list and select the appropriate function code, e.g. VIEW.

    Note

    The Function Code cannot be selected without selecting the Product and Sub-Product Codes.




  6. To save the newly created entitlement, click Save.

    Note

    Entitlements cannot be modified or deleted.




    A confirmation message appears, indicating a successful save.



  7. Click Ok.

Map Entitlement to Reports

Once the entitlements are defined, these can be mapped to the reports for enabling role-based access. Refer Configuring a Simple Report to know how to map the entitlement to a report.


Deleting an Entitlement Mapping

To delete an entitlement mapping, perform the following steps in Sigma Studio:

  1. Click the Role ID drop-down list and select a role of your choice, e.g. All.
    1. From the list of mapped entitlements, right-click an entitlement mapping of your choice (e.g. ACCSER, ACCSER, INIT) and select the Delete Mappings option to delete the chosen entitlement mapping.



      A confirmation message, indicating a successful deletion of the entitlement mapping, appears.



    2. Click Ok.
