7c. Initiate the Micro-flow (Request)

After configuring the micro-flow (request) in Canvas Studio, the request needs to be initiated in the web application.

A brief overview on initiating a request in the web application is provided as follows: 

  1. Log on to your web application using relevant credentials.  
  2. Access the relevant workspace, in which the workspace menu was created. 
  3. Proceed to click the workspace menu. 
  4. In the Create Request screen, provide appropriate details in the relevant fields. 
  5. Click Submit
  6. In the pre-initiation screen, click Submit to submit the initiated request. 


The step-by-step procedure to initiate a micro-flow (request) in the web application 
is listed as follows:

1. Log on to the web application using your credentials. 

The users can initiate, view, edit, approve or reject only based on the entitlements provided for them. In the following example, the user is entitled with initiate privilege alone. See User Entitlement for more details.




2. Access the workspace, in which the workspace menu was created. 



3. Click the Add Beneficiary menu. 



4. In the Create Request screen, enter the values as shown in the following table: 

As per the Business Key configuration provided while creating the request, the Request Modeler evaluates the CURRENCY field to determine the number of authorization levels required for the request.

5. Click Submit.



6. In the pre-initiation window, check the field values provided for the request before submitting it. 

You can also save this request as a draft for processing it later or go to the previous window and edit the details provided or cancel the request. The Reference No, Maker Name, and Maker Date fields will be auto-populated and provide the request creation related details. 

     a. Click Submit



   A confirmation message, indicating a successful submission of the request, appears. 



7. Click Ok.
