The benefits of enabling the data search using Canvas are categorized as follows:

Rapid Search:

• Quickly find any component (Forms, Apps, and Workspaces) in the application with efficient inverted indexing.
• Populate the search suggestions while the user is keying in a text, to help users immediately select the item they are looking for.

Data Access with entitlements:

• Classify the data as private, semi-private or public and thereby control the access to data.
• Show or hide the categorized data based on user’s authorization to the data.
• Populate the search result by limiting the information the user is permitted to view.

Navigation:

• Place the search icon anywhere in the application to initiate a search in the activity window.
• Navigate to any component (Forms, Apps, and Workspaces) in the application on a single click from the search result.
• Drill down to detailed data by looking for form fields and widget entities.
