Creating a Parent Request
To create a parent request using Request Modeler in Canvas Studio, perform the following steps:
- On the home page of Canvas Studio, click Create > Request.
- Create a new request. For detailed information on creating a new request, refer Configuring Request Modeler and Creating Library Request.
- Click the Child Request Mapping option to map the relevant child request.
- Click the Child Request Mapping lookup field, adjacent to Business Key Map.
- In the Request Modeler Definition List, select the appropriate child request, e.g. CUSTOMER_DETAILS.
- To map the business key of the child request, click Business Key Map.
In the Child Business Key Mapping screen, click the Child Business Key Field drop-down list and select the business key defined in the child request, e.g. ACCOUNT_NO.
The Business Key defined in the child request appears automatically in the Child Business Key field drop-down list. It is not necessary for the Business Keys of the parent and child requests to remain the same.
- Enter the appropriate business key of the parent request in the Parent Business Key field, e.g. ACCOUNT_NO.
- To save the child request business key mapping, click Save.
- On the Create New Request page, click Save to save the request.
On saving the request, the Workspace Menu Selection page appears. Click the Workspace ID lookup field to select a workspace, e.g. ACCOUNTSUMMARY576.
You can choose the same workspace for the workspace menu selection of both the child and parent requests. Even different workspaces can be chosen as the workspace menu selections for both the child and parent requests.
- To save the workspace menu selection, click Save.
A confirmation message, indicating a successful save, appears. - Click Ok.
